From Matthew Birt in MCN, the starkest statement yet that Ducati needs to change direction: We need to make some bigger steps and that is up to Ducati. We?ve moved the bike around in all shapes and positions, as has every other guy riding the Ducati. When we look at the settimgs [sic] used by [...]

The first Supercross of 2010 was spectacular, to say the least. Many of you know the first race starts with a few pre kick off parties, media events, and a big press conference the Thursday before the race.
It’s kinda’ like a big adventure for all of us at Supercross.com as we get set to embark on this remarkable 17 race journey across the country for the 2010 AMA / FIM Supercross Series!
Dani Pedrosa's domination at Sepang continues, the Repsol Honda rider comfortably topping the timesheets during the third session of free practice. But Pedrosa did not lead a Repsol Honda clean sweep on Saturday morning: Marco Simoncelli put his San Carlo Gresini Honda into 2nd, splitting the Repsols and bumping Andrea Dovizioso down into 3rd, with Casey Stoner only managing the 4th fastest time. The Ducatis found a burst of speed overnight, Nicky Hayden setting an impressive 5th fastest time, fractionally behind Stoner and under half a second behind the leader Pedrosa. Alvaro Bautista continues to impress on the Rizla Suzuki, taking 6th during FP3, and finishing ahead of Colin Edwards, fastest Yamaha on the Monster Tech 3 bike. Valentino Rossi profited from Ducati's improvement, jumping up to 8th after ending the day in 13th on Friday.
John Hopkins was forced to withdraw, after the screws and plates holding his injured finger together came apart and he is unable to bend his fingers. Ironically, Hopkins injured his finger at Brno, the last time he appeared on the grid as a wildcard, meaning Sepang is the second time he has been unable to race the Rizla Suzuki.
The timesheets at the end of day one at Sepang are telling. This is a track at which the teams spent six days testing back in February prior to the start of the year, much as they have done every year, and so they have enough data on the track to fill every iPod Steve Jobs ever sold. They should know how to set up a bike to go around this track, despite everyone complaining of a lack of grip, as is often the case in the hot October weather.
With that variable removed, the timesheet is a pretty good reflection of the state of MotoGP: Four factory Hondas sit at its head, the three Repsols followed by San Carlo's Marco Simoncelli; Hiroshi Aoyama on the satellite Honda follows, with the first Yamaha in 6th position, Monster Tech 3 Yamaha's Colin Edwards happy on the setting they found during the pre-season tests. Alvaro Bautista is 7th, the Suzuki thriving in the Malaysian heat as it always has done, and Randy de Puniet on a satellite Ducati is in 8th. That, in a nutshell, is a pretty good summary of the 2011 MotoGP season.
The MX World Championship show has well and truly got off to an epic start. This weekend gone, Sevlievo laid on some awesome entertainment with intense racing and an all round feast of girls and music.

This year’s AMA Motocross Banquet & Season Celebration was held in a magnificent banquet room at the Pala Resort & Casino. The room was decorated beautifully, lined with motocross décor, as well as a stage decorated with the championship bikes and awards. The line-up of food, appetizers, desserts, and beverages was very elegant and delicious.
After dinner, the awards ceremony began. Jason Weigandt, along with Tim Cotter hosted the show. And of course Jason started it just like he does many of his shows – after slamming down an energy drink.
Jason went on to talk about each round of this summer’s AMA Motocross Nationals, with a list of funny jokes pertaining to all the good and bad situations at each of the races. After that, the awards and trophies were handed out.
The night was filled with special memories, good times, and laughs. One poignant moment was when Kevin Windham accepted the award for ‘Sportsperson of the Year’. Kevin always has a great way of expressing himself, but made a great comment towards his friend & the team manager, Mike LaRocco. He commented on Mike’s motivation, that pushed Kevin to work hard and do his best … it was touching, but at the same time very funny.

It has felt like we have only had 2 races where the weather has been good all season – this weekend was the last round of the IXS in Chatel and with it came the SNOW!!!

Supercross 2011 is right around the corner! So much is going on, both publicly, but also behind the scenes. One public and noteworthy item – DC Shoes has a new three year contract with Monster Energy Supercross!

I was invited to the 2nd Annual DC Moto TF Ride Day and Invitational Poker Tournament at Pala Raceway. It was a full day’s ‘work’ for the DC Athletes; group photos, action shots, interviews, and lots of MX riding at Pala. And there was good game of Poker to raise money for Road 2 Recovery. The list of Athletes sponsored by the DC Shoes brand is a very impressive group making this Supercross assignment unique fun for me!
Day 1 – It was an awesome kick off to the CREATED TO DESTROY TOUR. Our first stop was at Scotty Cranmer's Skatepark – INCLINE CLUB in Jackson, NJ. It was packed with shr

The Selection Committe, comprised of the FIM, IRTA, and Dorna, has released its official list of entrants for the 2012 Moto2 & Moto3 World Championships. Subject still to the final confirmation of riders contracted to the teams, we can initially see that Moto2 will get a slight grid reduction for 2012, as the middle-child of Grand Prix racing will have 32 riders from 20 teams competing on any given Sunday. That number will also hold …
David Vuillemin spoke with Supercross.com about why he left as team manager of the MotoConcepts supercross / motocross race team. Here’s what DV had to say…
You recently left your position at MotoConcepts as the Team Manager, why did you make that decision?
I was ready to work with their “future rider” (Editor’s note: We believe the rider is Mike Alessi) in our program and help him improve his supercross skills and become a top 5 contender again. We would budge on the brand of the bike (Suzuki) and some other wishes the rider wanted. But I still wanted to have some control and some say on the program to continue our good work we’ve been doing for a year. Everything was agreed around Pala National to go ahead and do the deal, but it didn’t go thru after all. The rider and the family wanted way more control on everything. At that point, I told Mike Genova (Team Owner) if he wanted to give them all the control, I could not stay in the position just to wear a team shirt and watch someone else run the team. The deal was then off the table, and we started looking at other options by sending offers to a few other riders, but after the Monster Cup, Sunday night, Mike Genova decided to go back and give the rider and his family what they wanted.
